What to Expect

The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading all procurement activities across direct materials, indirect spend, and MRO categories to ensure cost efficiency, supply continuity, and supplier excellence. This role will serve as a key business partner to engineering, manufacturing, operations, and finance, driving commercial strategies that align with the company’s global supply chain objectives. The position requires strong strategic sourcing acumen, supplier relationship management skills, and the ability to optimize global purchasing processes in a rapidly growing organization.  

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement 

  • Lead supplier selection, evaluation, and negotiation processes across multiple direct material commodities and service categories. 

  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships to support long-term growth and innovation. 

  • Support the Advanced Purchasing team (sourcing) and Engineering with commodity strategies, cost models, and supplier capability assessments. 

  • Identify and implement cost reduction, value engineering, and total cost of ownership initiatives. 

Indirect Procurement & MRO 

  • Lead indirect procurement activities across all global sites, including facilities, IT, professional services, logistics, and capital equipment. 

  • Build and standardize a global MRO and indirect procurement process to drive efficiency, compliance, and transparency. 

  • Partner with site leaders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of operational supplies and maintenance services. 

  • Establish global framework agreements and leverage spend across regions. 

Supplier Management & Commercial Excellence 

  • Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics, including cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness. 

  • Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Mitigate supplier risks through proactive capacity, financial, and quality assessments. 

  • Negotiate and manage commercial contracts, ensuring favorable terms and alignment with company policies. 

Process Improvement & Governance 

  • Standardize procurement policies, tools, and reporting systems across all business units. 

  • Implement best practices in sourcing, cost tracking, and spend analysis. 

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, ethical standards, and sustainability initiatives. 

  • Support SAP S/4HANA and digital procurement tool integrations to improve visibility and analytics.

Job requirements

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). 

  • 8+ years of progressive procurement experience, with exposure to both direct and indirect categories. 

  • Strong background in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and contract management. 

  • Experience in a manufacturing or automotive/EV environment preferred. 

  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional procurement initiatives in global settings. 

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA preferred) and procurement analytics tools. 

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
