Job description

As mechanic in our Factory Service Center you work in a team of 3 based in Noord-Scharwoude. Our motorcycles are mainly produced at our installations in the Phillipines and they are arriving to Europe as orders are made. You are responsible for the testing of quality, software, and other needs on a regular basis and participate in the preparation of special models tailored made and their final-assembly. All our motorcycles are fully electric, so you will learn a lot about new technologies. You will ensure that all workshop requirements are met to guarantee that you can work safe, efficiently and accurately. The mechanic in our Factory Service Center is a full-time position based in Noord-Scharwoude, The Netherlands. In this position you will report directly to the Team Lead of the Factory Service Center EMEA.

Job requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on assistance preparing “especial models” for (international) events and fairs.

  • Training to understand, utilize, and develop our systems and tools.

  • Technical refurbishing of motorcycles.

  • Quality tests, upgrades of software and carrosserie.

  • Preparation of special models.

  • Support inventory and organization of the warehouse assistance when required.

  • Lifecycle Technical tests on site and at our external warehouses.

  • Work closely with logistics staff to ensure efficient storage and handling of parts and accessories.

  • Ensure that incoming and outgoing shipments are properly recorded and tracked.

 

Required Education/Experience:

Technical School (degree LTS+ or similar), with proven expertise of technical and electrical installations. Driving license A and/or B. Certificate forklift driver, recognized by the BMWT and industrial standard certificates like High Voltage NEN9140 are a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • You are fluent in English and Dutch. Both mandatory at a professional level.

  • Enjoy working with people but also individually, you are driven and goal oriented.

  • You are proactive, efficient, take initiative and can multitask.

  • You have good Microsoft Office skills (excel at advanced level is an advantage).

  • Experience with SAP is a plus.

Work environment & physical demands

  • The employee will be working with electric/hydraulic/pneumatic tools that influence the noise level, appropriate ear protection must be duly observed.

  • As the employee will be occasionally working on High Voltage circuitries, all safety procedures must be duly observed to minimize any risk of an electrical shock.

  • During lifting and hoisting of heavy objects, safety clothing and footwear must be utilized.

  • While testing motorcycles, occasionally the employee is exposed to rotary objects, i.e., wheels.

  • The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 kg and occasionally to lift up to 25 kg. For lifting over 25 kg necessary tools are available.

  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
